System's Ego - A Story Of Suffering

What would you do if you were put in a sealed room and left with the food that's extremely allergenic to you? You have no escape; you've no choice other than to eat the food before you or to die of hunger.

The Glorious Past

Albert Einstein once said, "The distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."

For most of the current systemic problems, there would be an explanation in the deep-rooted past. Some issues become more important than the others. Any issue could be influenced or brought forward by media and politics. The argument that the government in power promised us the eradication of corruption in three months before elections or a political party promised us to solve an issue that's been clinging on for three decades is neither possible nor plausible. The media on one side gets the opportunity to question the government about their past promises, and it also comes with an edge of superiority or ego to write endless articles on the corruption and false promises of the government, and for some of them it might be an act of bravery and 'the saviors of truth and justice complex.' The media on the other side defends the government, engages in whataboutery, and adds more fuel to the burning poles. In all this mess, the question that you should ask yourself is, "Is it really possible to solve the issue of corruption (or any other systemic problem) in just three months?" and "Is it really possible to make a government change its agendas and policies just by asking tough questions?" 

The Political Party

"Politics is bad; it's the cause of all evil in the world." Some of you might hear these kinds of rants more often from your friends or family. But is that correct? Probably not.

Politics has always acted as a tool to bring societal changes. If you want to be king/queen, you need politics; if you want to be a dictator, you need politics; if you want to be a democratic leader, you need politics. Just imagine what would happen if we tore apart the system—executive, legislative, and judiciary—and they all disappeared suddenly. There would be more chaos, and you would get to experience the true nature of the developmental barbarity of human beings.

A political party is never a nation. It only represents the particular set of people, their ideas, and their agendas. If any political party is making claims that they are the absolute good and the other party is an absolute evil,. They are wrong. There is nothing called 'absolute' apart from your dictionaries! The success of any political party lies in the fact of how well they are able to propagate their narrative to the public and how eager the people are to hear the narrative—thy name is politics.

No matter who comes to power, there is a strong chance that your problem is not going to be solved. Why? Because you are not alone, look around you; there are other people with different idiosyncrasies. Well, could they change the system in five or ten years? No, they can't.

The Most Abused Word

'System,' there you go! Everyone talks about the system. "Oh! I'm alright, but the problem is with the system." "If there was no reservation, I would have been the richest person in the country. Dang it, the system is corrupt." "If there were no religions in the world, the system would have been so much better." "I'm not part of the system because everyone's corrupt." Feel free to add your own statements based on your knowledge.

Everything is a system. You are a system, your surroundings are a system, and your society is a system. The only common thing among all the systems is complexity. Yes, you heard it right; every system is complex. Based on your political ideology, your journalistic values, your agendas, your problems, and your biases, you can't change any system. Because you cannot be aware of everything that goes on in the system.

For every action, there'll be an unequal/unpredictable reaction.

Let's imagine you become the president of a country overnight. Let's say the majority of the people love you. Can you guarantee me that all your policies will have a positive effect on every city, every shop, every school, every street, and everyone? There is no mention of something like that in the history. So whoever is reading this has an opportunity to create history. The offer never closes.

Every person who wants to change the system or to do some good to the system has two main obstacles: infinite diversity and time. Within a short period of time, if someone promises you utopia, whether it be activists, journalists, politicians, or radical groups, they are probably wrong. Most of the time, these people make you feel like you have no other choice but to choose between the lesser evil or the absolute evil, but as aforementioned, there's no such thing as absolute. You always have a choice. The change begins with you; just don't mix that up with your deep emotions.

The Sufferer 

Everyone suffers. You can't bring a grain from any home that hasn't seen suffering. Most of you might think, "Oh, the rich people don't suffer." Well, they do suffer; suffering has many names—money, desire, health & wealth. I'm not trying to be Buddha here; I'm just wondering how human civilization transpired over the ages even knowing all this. And that's the system. Betterment of the world over the generations is constant, and the suffering is inevitable.

Beige—The Homeless Person

Burn all your degrees if you can't notice a homeless person inside out. A homeless person in real life is always in a survival mode. Your high intellect, ideology, or media coverage will not fill their stomach. Why? They were born on roads, their parents had no idea about education, they didn't have food to eat, and they didn't have clothes to wear. "My blood is boiling; that politician is corrupt." Yes, of course, the homeless person was just born on the oath day of that politician. Well, it's the system again! The system that is evolving on human egos, politics, media, us vs. them since ancient times, genders, races, and all the 'humanly' things that you could think of.

Final Thoughts

Before changing the system, understand the system. The system within and out. And the time. Thesis and antithesis cannot always solve systemic or structural problems. The homeless person is also within you with a lack of knowledge, gullible emotions, extreme/wild feelings, and chaos.
